7 book series

By: Declan, 11 years old

Summary:

Explorers Academy was a great series. In it we meet Cruz, a 12 year old boy living in Hawaii with his dad. He joins Explorer Academy, a school where students travel around the world on boats learning and helping innovate, save, and create.

Here he learns the fire that killed his Mom wasn’t accidental and instead was murdered by a company known as Nebula. They did this because his mom developed an incredible cell healing serum that would shut them out of business. Now Cruz must travel around the world searching for 8 pieces of marble that hold the cipher to his Mom’s serum. However he is being hunted down by Nebula so he can’t get the serum.

What I liked and didn’t like:

This book is very exciting and has lots of action. As he travels around the world he is creating and learning a lot, so I picked up a lot of interesting information for this book too. Finally, it had a lot of science fiction like robots so lifelike they were disguised as humans and special inventions that let you talk to whales. All that science fiction made it very interesting.  One thing that I didn’t like about this book was that sometimes it got kind of slow and there was nothing really happening. Another thing I didn’t like about this book is that there was a lot of pictures for a chapter book.

What books this reminds me of:

It is a lot like 39 clues where Amy and Dan must travel around the world to develop a secret serum developed by their family. However their relatives are trying to hunt them down to get the serum first. So this book is great for anyone who liked that series. It is also kind of like Spy School because Ben Ripley is constantly rooting out spies and running away from danger.
